Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

By J.K. Rowling

My wife was really excited to get this final installment. So excited that she wanted to preorder the book in case the stores ran out. Hell event the supermarket carried the Harry Potter books when they came out. So she freaked when she realized that we would be in CA when the book was delivered and not in TX. The solution? Change the shipping address.

When the 4th Book

came out I reread the first ones to refresh my memory. Not so much with the rest. Oh well. Seeing that the time between books only increased this wasn’t the best idea. My wife reread 5 and 6 right before book 7 came out so she was able to fill me in on all I had forgotten. That and http://www.hp-lexicon.org/.

I’ll be honest. I don’t remember much about the Deathly Hallows. It’s not that I wasn’t interested. It’s just that I didn’t remember the details of the books, only the general story, so it was hard to follow along with all of the story lines. So what do I remember about book 7? The epilogue where Rowling tells us what happens to Harry and the gang after they grew up. It was a nice touch. I can say that I’m looking forward to rereading these in another decade or so with my daughter. Until then, I’ll keep the fond memories for first 4 books in my mind.
