I guess you either like Tom Clancy novels or you hate them. The only previous book of his that I have read is Rainbow Six
. I loved it. That book and The Hunt for Red October were both found at work. One in the hotel and the other at the airport. Man I love finding books at work!This might be a rare case where the book and the movie
are both good. Well I've never seen the movie all the way through in one sitting. I think I've seen the whole thing but always in bits and pieces. The book goes into more detail but the two are pretty close together. I don’t really have much to say about the book. I mean I love reading about submarines during WWII. In this most of the action takes place in one with a little information on how they operate.This was the first of the Jack Ryan books published, though apparently not the first in the series. So give it a go. Plus as a bonus, every time you hear the Russian sub commander Ramius talk you can think of Sean Connery.
