The Lost Symbol

By Dan Brown

I've enjoyed Dan Brown's previous books. When I saw The Lost Symbol at the supermarket the other day, it was on sale and I splurged. Hey 12 bucks for a hardback isn't to shabby. Cheaper than Amazon.

If you've read one Dan Brown book then you'll be familiar with the style. Short chapters that often jump between characters, end with cliffhangers, and twists that make it hard to guess what's going to happen next.

Another thing I enjoy are the factoids (about Washington D.C. in this case) deftly woven into the story. Sometimes it's hard to see where liberties have been taken and when the truth is being told.

The Lost Symbol takes place in under a 24 hour period. Our hero Robert Langdon has been summoned to Washington D.C. to.... Again, does it really matter. He looks into the mysteries of the Mason's, explorers the Capitol with a twist on perception much like those in the previous Robert Langdon books.

This was an entertaining, quick read. Just the book for your next airplane ride.
